What is Power Suiting?
Power Suiting is a personal style and confidence blog. It’s also a state of mind.
When “Power Suiting” one is feeling GREAT, no matter what one is wearing or doing, be it cleaning toddler puke off a pair of jeans, or schmoozing in a cocktail dress.
What is a Power Suit?
A power suit can be anything from your softest sweat-wicking running tights, to a boardroom-ready jacket that won’t make you sweat in the first place.
I started this site out of a journalistic curiosity to uncover successful women’s “power suits”—the secret-weapon-style clothes that help them, not just to get through their days, but to get what they want out of them.
See the entire ongoing series here: What’s Your Power Suit?
But as these style interviews progressed, so did my focus on building confidence and leadership skills, no matter what you’re wearing. Clothing is one tool you can use to feel more confident, but there are so many more!
I’ve expanded things a bit to include a Leadership section and a Finding Balance section, too.
What to Expect Here
You’ll also see some of my experiments with Organizing, Systems for everything from pulling outfits together to accepting compliments, and all the ways I’m trying to be mindful about my own confidence-building, time savings, and personal growth.
My dream is to start here, helping myself and a few others, and end up with a roadmap for success from a whole lot of goal-crushing, well-dressed women.
Who am I?
My name is Wendy Toth. I’m a lifelong professional writer, editor, and content strategist for outlets ranging from The New York Times to Parent.co.
I often wake up in a state of severe caffeine withdrawal, but I never let that stop me.
Instead, I use my natural curiosity and all the skills I learned in my early days as scrappy reporter to find ways to get ahead.
I also do the same for anyone who needs a career boost. Think of it as hiring a personal trainer for your work life: I offer problem-solving sessions and professional development coaching. If you’re interested, contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
